"Art with Heart" fundraiser for Haitian relief at Maitland Art Center

We are seeking artwork donations which will raise money for the disaster in Haiti.  100% of proceeds will go to Doctors without Borders operating in Haiti.  Maitland Art Center is agreeable to letting us use their facilities for this purpose on Fri., Feb. 12.  This is the Friday before Valentine's Day, so we're calling this fundraiser "Art with Heart."  Anyone interested, please email me or call so I can get a list together of artwork.  Please submit the minimum you will accept for your art.  You can call me or Jerry at 407-672-1001 or 407-592-5257 for further info.  Also, please let us know if you'd be interested in volunteering for this fundraiser.  Due to the short notice of this event, if it can't be managed for Feb. 12th, we'll reschedule as soon as possible.  Please send this link to any other artists you know that may be interested in contributing to this worthy cause.  Thank you.

"January" Study

A cold January reminded me of this study I did for a painting I finished last year, entitled "January". The study has always had a special place for me -- I have always liked it much better than the finished product -- and it was my joy to gift it to a close friend this past holiday season.

Still too cold!

Still cold here in Florida -- but it has me looking at the few winter scene that I have done in years past -- the cold here is not as inspirational as the snow up north!

Solitude

"Solitude" Watercolor Painting by Krys Pettit
This recently completed painting was inspired by a scene in near Owls Head, Maine some years ago -- although I saw it during the day it led me to wonder about it at night -- how it might look on a chilly summer night in the full moon -- and who would be there to witness it?

Cold

It's too cold here in Central Florida -- we had sleet, ice and snow in some places yesterday. Not living in a wintry climate I tend not to paint too many winter scenes -- this one happens to be something I did many years ago from am memory of those fantastic sunsets in Upstate New York!
